“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead (1901 to 1978)

“Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness …” United States Declaration of Independence … Those words inspired a Country and helped change the world. The following words should do the same …

Positive Options

I’m sitting on my porch sipping on a cup of coffee asking questions.
Why Alviso, being such a great town, do we keep losing so many generations?
Why do young kids walk around our streets with no dreams, no goals and no aspirations?
I wish they could see the future and see how much they need a good education.
Thirteen…fourteen and already using or dealing drugs.
Their corrupted and weak mentality makes them prey to the gangs and they end up being thugs.
Where are the parents when those kids are out there late at night?
Why are the parents living in darkness when they should be their kids light?
Young and old are in the out of jail yet being put away only makes them come out worse.
The key thing is education yet it is being bypassed and ignored by all the levels of our society.
Cutting down on education is to be blamed to our social issues not partially but in its entirety.
Our society has turned their back on these kids…like they’re a lost cause when the responsibility to bring about change and improvement lies on all of us.
Society has learned to accept these kids for what they’ve become instead of what they can be.
They need to learn the difference between right and wrong but it’s up to us to make them see.
We need to shed the light on the good things that can happen from them if they stay out of trouble.
It’s easier to keep building off a good foundation instead of trying to make something out rubble.
Kids learn by example and they need to see that they have options.
We cannot keep pointing the finger at them.
We need to show them that we care with positive actions.
