My involvement with the Santa Program in Alviso began in the early 80s when Richard P. Santos asked me to take the Santa pictures. Dick and I were members of the San Jose Fire Dept, and I was the Dept photographer. I accepted Dicks offer. My wife Kathie and my son and daughter Ted Jr and Gina have also been involved over the years. It has been a big part of our Christmas season.
It is a great pleasure working with Joe and Judy Santiago. Their tireless effort over these many years have made the Alviso Santa program what it is today. Judy continues to carry on the tradition with the help of her family.
I also appreciate all the hard work that Richard P Santos and Michael Gross put in all year long. They have been the driving force behind this great program along with the Alviso Library staff, the George Mayne Elementary School staff and the Alviso Youth Center staff. I also want to acknowledge the citizens of Alviso for their contributions to make the Santa program so successful.
The future looks very bright for the scholarship program with all the corporate sponsorship and participation. I appreciate my involvement with the Alviso Santa Program. It is a very worthy cause, and my family looks forward to it every year.
