The Organization for Latino Affairs (OLA)

The Organization for Latino Affairs (OLA) of the Santa Clara Valley Water District is an employee resource group. We were founded in 2004 and chartered by the Board of Directors of the District in 2005.  There are 60+ employee members.  Our vision, mission, and objectives from our bylaws are below.

 

Vision

To create an environment of equality, fairness, and inclusion where District employees are valued and have the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Mission

To serve as an advocate for Hispanic/Latinos at the District. To attain and sustain O.L.A.’s vision and objectives.

Objectives

• Be a support network to those within the District that value and affiliate with the Hispanic/Latino culture;

• Promote and cultivate outreach to Hispanic/Latino communities;

• Be an educational and cultural resource to the District (such as for training, events, etc.) to ensure diversity awareness; and

• Partner with management to enhance professional development for Hispanic/Latino District employees.
